Michael Baker and Cory Mitchell were recently hired by Farm Credit Services of Illinois and are based at the corporate office in Mahomet.
Mike Baker serves as vice president of credit services, and previously worked for Farm Credit as a loan officer and credit analyst from 1986-1991. Mike worked in the office furniture industry in Michigan the past 14 years most recently as director of operations with Trendway Corporation. In the office furniture industry, he worked in various roles including manager of quality, engineering, and manufacturing engineering. |

A Champaign Centennial High School graduate, Mike earned bachelor degrees at the University of Illinois in economics and mechanical engineering. Mike and his wife, Laura (Ramshaw) Baker, reside in Philo with their children—Nick, Jamie, Abigail, and Nathan. A master gardener with Michigan State University, Mike enjoys gardening, trees, and landscape design.

Cory Mitchell was named regional vice president of crop insurance. Most recently, Cory worked as regional sales manager for 1st Farm Credit Services in Normal. He previously served as a funding manager with the Illinois Finance Authority and as vice president of agribusiness for the Gifford State Bank. Cory earned an agriculture degree at the University of Illinois, attended the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, and is currently enrolled in the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program. Cory is a Saint Joseph-Ogden High School graduate and resides in Mahomet with his wife, Michelle, and children—Madison, Natalie, and Hayden. |
